The official franchise describes more than 100 books. For the main arcs specifically, the catalogue supports 52 published novels as of 24 October 2026: eight completed six-book arcs, plus four Changing Skies books.

Evidence and limits
There is no exact all-format total on this page: novella collections, manga bind-ups and colour reissues overlap with individual stories. Adding catalogue rows as if they were all new works gives a misleading total.

Why the main-series total is 52
The official catalogue lists six books in each of its first eight arcs, including the prequel Dawn of the Clans. Changing Skies lists The Elders' Quest, Hidden Moon, Chasing Shadows and Guiding Light. HarperCollins dates Guiding Light to 6 October 2026.
False Dawn is listed by HarperCollins for 30 March 2027. It is a forthcoming book at this check date, so it is not included in 52.
How to count your own collection
Choose a unit first: distinct stories, physical volumes or editions. Then keep one row per unit. A trilogy collected in one book is one physical volume but three stories. A paperback, an ebook and a translated edition are not three new stories.
The previously displayed rough total of 116 mixed these units and has been removed. The official more-than-100 description is useful for scale, not a claim that every edition or collection is a separate adventure.

Does 52 include Super Editions?
No. It counts main-arc novels only, including Dawn of the Clans, and excludes side novels, comics, novellas and field guides.
Is 116 the official total?
No. It is not a reliable deduplicated total and should not be cited as a publisher statistic.
Does each ISBN count as another story?
No. Formats and new editions can have different ISBNs while containing the same story.
