Warrior Cats on screen: the announced animated series
The confirmed screen project in Disney's 7 July 2026 announcement is an animated series expected in 2028 on Disney+ and Disney Channel. It is not an announcement of a 2026 theatrical movie.

Evidence and limits
The 2028 window is supported by Disney's own French newsroom, not just entertainment reporting. The announcement says the series is in production; it does not supply an exact premiere date, a voice cast or a country-by-country availability list.
What Disney actually confirmed
The announcement identifies The Prophecies Begin as the source arc, with A.C. Bradley as showrunner and Rodrigo Blaas directing in collaboration with El Guiri Studios. Original Force is producing for Tencent Video.

Is it on Netflix?
The cited announcement names Disney+ and Disney Channel, not Netflix. There is no verified Netflix release date on this page. That does not establish an eternal or worldwide exclusivity rule: distribution needs to be checked for the viewer's country when release details arrive.
What about a Warrior Cats movie or movie 2?
Older development reports and fan-made films can appear alongside the new television news. They are not proof of a released official feature or an announced sequel. This guide has not verified a current theatrical release date.
A fan animation, a game trailer and a studio series trailer are different things. Check the uploader and the official announcement before treating a video title as a release confirmation.
Where to start while waiting
The series draws on the first book arc. Begin with Into the Wild, or choose The Prophecies Begin graphic adaptations. The Clans of the Forest game tells its own Lake Territories stories rather than functioning as a preview of television episodes.
