Warrior Cats OC ideas and template
A good original character needs a motive, a limit and relationships, not just a rare coat or a powerful name. Use the template to create a fan character; the result does not become part of published canon.

Evidence and limits
The official Mini Maker is an official-site character activity, while this written template is an independent exercise. An OC can belong to a living Clan, be a loner or rogue, or inhabit a clearly labelled fan-created Clan.
Copyable OC planning template
- Name and life stage: kit, apprentice, warrior, medicine cat, elder or outsider.
- Clan or community: where the cat lives, and why they belong there.
- Appearance: build, coat pattern and one easy-to-recognise feature.
- Strength: a learned skill that fits their experience.
- Flaw or limit: something that causes a genuine cost or difficult choice.
- Goal and fear: what they want, and what could make them hesitate.
- Relationships: a trusted friend, a source of friction and a responsibility.
- Story era and boundaries: which canon events are known, and what the roleplay group has agreed.
One invented example
Practice concept: Reedskip, a RiverClan warrior who is patient at fishing but uncomfortable speaking at Gatherings. A younger Clanmate relies on their steady judgement, while Reedskip worries that admitting uncertainty will let that cat down.
This is a made-up prompt, not an unused-name guarantee or a canon biography. Change the name or details if they overlap with an existing character or another creator's OC.
Keep the design playable
Give a talented cat a skill that needs practice rather than unlimited combat power or every prophecy at once. Agree on injury, family ties and romance with other players before adding them to a shared story.
Clan naming often uses -kit and -paw before a warrior name, with -star reserved for leaders. Outsider names and story exceptions exist, so do not treat that convention as a rule for every cat in the setting.
Questions people ask
Can my OC be a loner?
Yes. The setting includes loners and rogues as well as Clan cats; a server may impose its own available roles.
Is a generated name canon or guaranteed unique?
No. A generator or prompt supplies an idea, not an official character or an exhaustive originality check.
